Oshawa Generals Hockey

With the NHL in Full Lock out mode this year I spent some time searching for other sports that would fill the void. I needed a hockey fix and I found it! Here is the surprising part, it turned out not to be a filler but a replacement for the NHL. I have enjoyed my time watching and being a part of the Oshawa Generals Home games that I find it very difficult to “FLIP” back to the NHL. The entire experience has been more affordable and just as enjoyable. I find my self not only looking forward to going to the games but a bit disappointed if I know i going to miss a game or two.

The Oshawa Generals Play in the OHL (Ontario Hockey league)  and have an impressive alumni which includes: Bobby Orr, Eric Lindros,  Marc Savard, John Tavares  and Jason Arnott just to name a few. There are also some future stars in the current line up and they Include Boone Jenner (Columbus) , Scott Laughton (Philadelphia) , Tyler Biggs (Toronto). It has been a great experience this year, the hockey is fast paced and has all of the elements of the NHL including the atmosphere in the fantastic arena we have in Oshawa. The General Motors Centre rivals any NHL arena only on a slightly smaller attendance scale. The Fans are so involved in each game it’s hard not to get involved and feel that you are part of everything going on from start to finish.

My kids have loved the games and often want to invite their friends and even my wife looks forward to our Friday and Sunday night games.

If you get a chance to attend a game you really should give it a try – you wont be disappointed wtih the talent on the ice. They may not win every game but man they give it their all!!

Currently Oshawa sits third in the conference and Second in the eastern division . They are poised to make a long playoff run and challenge to be one of the top teams in the OHL. Check out the standings below (link) and more importantly check out the generals next time they are playing at the Genereal Motors Centre in Oshawa
